Hey y’all! So I heard that there’s a tradition of riding the NYC marathon route before the runners make it over to Manhattan? Does anyone have any experience with this? I’d love to ride if anyone else was thinking of the same.

Have new analyst on the team with an MBA and project experience. After working with them for 2 months it’s apparent that there are 0 consulting skills (excel, outlook, PowerPoint) and they freeze up even on internal calls. They are young and coachable, and I offered to put time into that. However at a company event they made no effort to get to know the team and chose to stick to their familiar colleagues in their home office. I’d like to ask for a new resource but interested in feedback.

Guys I need help. I'm from Orchard learning and completed it in July. After that I've been on bench since July . I was trained on Cloud and DevOps technologies. I've interest in Web development and having hands on HTML CSS Bootstrap JS and ReactJs.
Question is should I be in Mindtree till my next promotion to C2 or should I switch after completion of 1 year in Mindtree? What hike can I expect for Web developer after switching.
I'm having total 14 months experience including Mindtree.

Anyone have good tricks for getting around the AdAge / AdWeek pay walls? I do want to read a small % of the trash they post but IMO it’s definitely not work paying for.

I am pregnant with my 2nd and my job is very demanding. First trimester was bad for me with my first pregnancy and I took 2 months unpaid personal leave.
I can't afford that now and cannot risk my job. Not in public accounting anymore. I work in SEC reporting at a pharmaceutical company.

I am so thankful to be working from home for sure. I am just really dreaded to turn on my computer everyday with this hell of a morning sickness.

If you have been in similar situation. What worked for you?

Anyone have any tips/gadgets to fall asleep better on the road? Once I’m at a hotel for a few weeks I can adjust to the bed/environment but the first few weeks are brutal (fall asleep at 3/4am)

Any ladies with PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome)? Do you have to go on birth control? I'm curious how many of you have this syndrome and if you manage it with the pill or not? I've been under the impression that birth control is almost sort of necessary to prevent cancer but someone was recently telling me otherwise. Now I'm trying to decide if I should go off of it after 10 years.

Would you rather have an assistant who was very friendly but incompetent or incredibly rude but competent? I’m leaning towards the latter but currently dealing with the former.

Anyone else pretty terrible at managing their own finances? I have an embarrassingly little amount of cash saved.

Any riders do 9W during the weekend or weekday?

Do you all stop at the red light???

Welcome to the NYC Cycling Bowl. We can use this to discuss all things NYC cycling; including preferred routes, meetups, shop recommendations, etc. Let’s try to use Borough tags when discussing geographically-specific topics.

Hi Folks! Starting at McK NYC soon and hoping to bike to work some days. I'll probably get a Brompton folding bike but wondering if anyone has experience with the NYC office? Is there accesible bike storage in the building? Are there showers of some sort in the office building where I can change out of biking clothes?
Would appreciate any advice.

Looks like this weekend is going to be another fantastic one for riding (short sleeve jerseys in November works for me). Feel free to post any rides your thinking about taking this weekend along with an estimated speed!

Heads up to anyone who rides in Central Park. Starting tomorrow they’re closing the descent around the Lasker Pool construction down to the base of Harlem Hill for a few weeks. You’ll have to take the 103rd Street crossover.

Howdy! Has anyone ever biked the fire island seashore? If so, was it as awesome as I'd expect it to be, and were you able to find bikes to rent that could handle it?

I understand there used to be fat tire bike rentals at Robert Moses, but the pandemic seems to have closed that down permanently.

I want to do this ride so much I'm thinking of buying a pair of lectric foldables for myself and my partner, then just immediately selling them at a loss - but I'd prefer something easier logistically!

Looking like a perfect weekend for cycling. Started things off with a jaunt to Piermont this evening.

Anyone up for a ride to Nyack and back tomorrow? Riding roughly avg 12mph, relatively early start 8/9am, maybe stop in Nyack for a quick bite before heading back down. We’ll ride up west side highway, cross GW bridge, up the palisades and 9W, and come back down the same way. Photos attached is of 9W— hopefully we’ll have peak foliage tomorrow!
