Hi all, how do you navigate a career journey with a low undergraduate GPA, had too many rejections, not so sure on the right thing to do at this point?

Started off with a research intern role, but I currently work as an Investment Analyst in an Energy Company, looking to pivot to Investment banking or Investment Analyst roles ( in an Infra Finance firm like IFC). Not so sure if that's a good career plan?

I was in a similar situation and ended up getting certifications and my MBA and this allowed me to get into FP&A when I wasn’t able to on my poor grades in undergrad alone

like

Thanks for this. I have been able to gather relevant certifications but for the MBA, I'm looking at getting tangible work experiences, say 3-4 years, before taking that route. You think this would work?

Do you need a masters or a MBA to move up in a healthcare consultant role? I have about 8+ years experience however I think I would get more career opportunities with a masters degree.

Hey Fishes,

Can I retire from Pwc if I want to??

I'm really feeling afraid about joining since I see max people leave after 2-3 years.

I want to work for 6-7 years at least. Sorry if this seems like a dumb question.

I'm just curious since I've seen people working for 20 years in TCS, but I don't know how it is in PWC.

Any help will be appreciated

Hi all!
I’m currently on my last year of university, pursing a computer science degree. I have yet to get an internship, or any experience in tech. Any advice on where to start? I would be attending part time in the spring semester and taking night classes so I would like to have something set up for January, let me know what you think. Thank you in advance.

I’ve been out of work for a significant amount of time due to Covid decimating my industry. I’ve gone on many interviews and had a few final rounds. I finally received an offer today. The pay is more than I’ve ever made & team seems great. I just can’t help but feel a little disappointed bc it’s not the industry I was in before which was the whole reason I went to law school to begin with. A bird in hand is worth two in the bush, right? Anyone experience a similar situation? Happy you pivoted?

Has anyone found roles in Big 4 or industry that allowed more work life balance when their kids were young without damaging future career trajectory? I'm a partner with young kids and feel like I'm missing out on too much of their lives. Wishful, but my dream job would have a lighter workload in terms of time and pressure for the next ~5 years, but not set me back too much (or at all) when the kids are older and tired of me in a few years and I'm ready to be back at work full force.

Where do you find the time to get everything done in the day when you have multiple partners, associates and equity partners that interrupt you and want things turned around immediately while simultaneously working on deadlines? I feel like I’m the only one that can’t manage a 70+ case load without letting someone down. I constantly have to say “Can I do this tomorrow?” Etc. I don’t even have time to bill on the clock. I work until 7p at least every night. Top 10 family law firm.

I realized a slow pace at work is really bad for me. A couple years ago I was experiencing burn out from my fast paced job supporting transactions, and believed by moving to a slower job in a lower cost area, I would be sailing off to the sunset. Wrong, I spend weeks following up with other teams, often times they forgot what we discussed, so I spent 50% if the time reminding them of the topics and next steps. I spend most of my time writing memos no one will read.
