I’m interested in Real Estate Development and was hoping for some guidance on how to get into this field and be successful. I’m 26, and so far I’ve worked as a leasing consultant for a property management company and I’m currently working as a project admin for a construction company. Are there any school programs, mentorships, jobs, etc. that you’d recommend?

I am a construction project manager and have managed very high end 40,000 + custom estate projects. I am looking to do residential development projects as well but need a finance partner. If anyone is interested in partnering for projects please contact me. Projects would be self-performed without the need for a GC and various soft costs.

I recently went on antidepressants for my anxiety and it has helped tremendously. I felt like I was in a constant state of panic and anger before. Meds are available if you need them!

Anyone’s company still going through the hiring process up to Christmas? Was in the running for a role at a consultancy and had an interview scheduled for weeks. Suddenly got it cancelled with no explanation, when I reached out 2 days later the recruitment team gave little to no explanation besides ‘recruitment stopping for the year. Has left a v sour taste. I have other interviews lined up but this one was a favourite.

Never had this happened before, so just curious to know if this is normal?

Will I ever get over my poverty mindset?

I grew up very poor. I get extreme anxiety and shame when I spend money above $20. Deep down I feel like I should scrounge and save every penny. I use bath towels that are 10 years old and threadbare cause I can't bring myself to buy a "luxury item" despite making oodles of money and have a ton saved and invested.

Anyone else get over this?

When looking at offices to work in, what do you value the most? As a realtor, to me what matters the most is flexibility in my hours.
