Hi, all londoners. Currently, my firm put a policy even i m sick and have covid, I still have to count it as having a holiday and use my holiday balance. Is it legal to do this in london?

That's a firm you don't want to work for , who does that in 2023

I assume your firm adopts the same policy as the flu? You’ll need to be more specific

I’m pretty sure in the Uk there isn’t statutory sick leave. Might be like a week or so and then unpaid leave after that. Sounds illegal to make you use holiday days.

I didnt take sick leave, i work from home but they count my working from home as having holiday ! Is this legal to do that?

No they definitely cannot make you take this as holiday. If your sick, it should be sick leave. If they dont give you much full sick pay they could offer you the option to take holiday if you want full pay but they cant make you take it that way. Id speak to them.

The mandate we had previously no longer applies. It’s more of a get used to it now and get back into the office approach now… blame the government

The UK has statutory sick pay of about £100pw for up to 28 weeks. As you’re in finance I’d be very surprised if you didn’t have an income protection policy, either as a set employee benefit or via an employee benefit such as access to a Vitality scheme etc. Furthermore, you’re typically supposed to self certify if off for < 3 days or get a doctors certificate if sick for more than 3 days. I’m not a lawyer but this doesn’t sound right at all. Get a doctors cert. to cover your back should it all go left and don’t just rely on a PCR test as evidence

Yes thanks!

Clawback clause in current contract: been in role for over 2 yrs, it was an internal move that required relocation. Relocation was approved shortly after (over 2 yrs ago) but covid meant the actual move and start of my contract with new subsidiary was delayed, I was paid by the previous subsidiary meanwhile. I got small relocation package. Would internal move be subject to a buy-out/clawback clause if I leave now and if yes, is it time in role or time under new contract? Any experience? Thanks!

Is your firm treating 12/26 and 12/27 as firm holiday since the 24th and the 25th are during the weekend this year? Of course client demands would dictate whether people will be working, but curious what the official policy is. For what it’s worth, my firm treated the day after thanksgiving as holiday and I didn’t have to work for the whole day.

I've been following Coforge LinkedIn page, and I have decent offer from them. In one call HR said we will be moving towards 5 days work from Office, to which I said I don't mind. Now that aside, their LinkedIn posts everyone at VP SVP levels are joining.. seems like they are growing very fast, as hiring at such high Positions happens only that time.

Question is - whenever I compare Coforge with any other people say avoid Coforge.. Why????
