What sort of tech strategy are you doing? Implementation?
It’s pretty broad given the nature of my project but more aligned to tech transformation
In the first year of my industry analyst/consulting career, I wasn’t confident in my public speaking skill level so I always made sure there were a few client organizations I could potentially exit into if I decided it wasn’t working out. By forming strong working relationships with some choice clients, it gave me a stronger sense of control over my career path. I also sought out opportunities beyond consulting to keep from burning out (external facing research, product management, executive workshops, etc.). In the end I stayed for 11 years.
Tbh 6 months isn’t much experience. You’d likely be doing a lateral move to another entry level role within tech in industry.
What kind of technology strategy projects have you worked on? It’s difficult to determine exit ops with no context into you’re actual work.
I believe for APM programs, they look more for the right mindset and thought process since technical understanding can always be taught. Cap1 has their PDP and TDP program - take a look. I’m unsure of their hiring cycles for those programs but my guess is they are finishing up.
You can try solving problems in real time for a company if you know how to code
If you dont mind me asking, why are you looking to leave so soon after joining? 6 months isn't very much time at an employer.
Honestly I posted this just to get a good sense of my options, not aggressively looking to leave. I am motivated largely by money, so I figured if I start to educate myself on exit opportunities, start polishing my resume, start slowly applying, then in 1-2 years I should be looking at a nice exit and salary bump. The goal is to get to senior consultant and bounce, if I find something better that I like before then, I’ll take it.
