I’m job hunting in Los Angeles, looking at a variety of titles (HRBP, Sr. HRBP, Manager, Sr. Manager, Director). I have 8 YOE and my SHRM-SCP. I reached my report limit on payscale.com, so I used a variety of other sites to price the roles (BLS, salary.com, Glassdoor, LinkedIn, Robert Half). Are recruiters worth more than L&D specialists? We have a new recuiter that transferred in from another dept. & is already making more than me and has a higher comp range. We have same tenure & they have NO prev. recuiting experience. I should also add I have been helping cover recuiting in interim. Hello Everyone! Had a discussion yesterday regarding “claw backs” being included in a policy for sponsorship if the new employee leaves before 3 years. It was a declining percentage over a three year period. My POV was that it wasn’t something I’ve ever done and didn’t seem like they were sure of the hire they were making. So, a recruiter gave me feedback that my lack SPHR or SHRM-SCP is causing my resume to be knock out by AI and human recruiters despite my position and work history in Multinationals and being in Technology. They suggested that we put SPHR ( Lapsed). I let it lapse in 2017. What is your opinion? Plus if I were to take another certification - should I take SPHR or SHRM-SCP?

How much to include in your resume?? So I’m 44 y/o and have been actively working with no “gaps” since I was 18. My resume is packed but I feel it may be too much and it feels dated. I want to freshen it up as I’m considering a change. Should I go back 10yrs and leave it at that? Should I simplify the resume? It’s a fine line between easier to read and watered down. In this field, when choosing a masters degree program is it more beneficial to get a degree in Human Resources to further my knowledge in HR (my undergraduate degree is in Economics) , an MBA, or Data Science Degree due to the fact that HR is becoming more data driven as well as get a PHR / SHRM-CP certification?

I am a HR Generalist, I was called into my managers office and she informed me I was getting a verbal write up because she claimed I never told her that a supervisor was secretly changing peoples pay rates. I then said , that is untrue and I have screenshots that I sent to you on teams and a email that states I informed you of these issues back on June 6th. She then oh okay the write up is dismissed. Any thoughts on the best certifications to get in order to help move forward? I have considered the CCP from World at Work, but it’s fairly pricey to get by the time you wrap up everything. I was looking at both SHRM-CP and SPHR. Everyone that I have spoken to has the SHRM, but that’s also only looking at individuals in a small geographic footprint and within 3-4 different companies. I was hoping to get some thoughts on this from others? Thanks
