Worked in Australia for 5 years. Depends on your role and where you plan to go. Sydney has the highest salaries due to CoL. Definitely expect less $ than major US markets though (and in Aussie dollars to boot). Much better hours and work/life balance over there, though.

I know someone that did secondement there as a Manager. It was fairly large pay cut for sure (id assume it’s the same at Senior). But that also depends on where you currently live too.

It depends on where you live and also experience/if you have a masters, $70k to $90k was the band they showed us maybe three years ago. Note that that’s inclusive of super (9.5%) and I think our tax rate is higher than yours.

But US pay is generally higher than ours as you’d have to pay for medical insurance whereas ours is free.

We also have two busy seasons if you’re in audit, US group reporting in Jan and Aus year end in July/August.

I think Brisbane is still okay COL wise, haven’t heard complaints from friends over there anyway. It’s a great lifestyle though and I loved the experience when I went on secondment to the UK.
