I’ve some time before I start with my new role, and would be open to working with anyone interested in breaking into consulting from non target schools, experienced hires or anyone planning on entering consulting.

I am a financial analyst and been in finance 6 years. I want a change in career to move to SAP analyst roles, potentially doing SAP certifications as I like problem solving, solutions etc. I am not sure where to start and how to make the change. Any suggestions welcome.

2020 grad M&A/PE Associate in LCOL area thinking about moving to a ECVC/M&A boutique. I generally like the work I do and the people I work with, but I really don’t like the hours and the constant late nights and weekends. Currently on pace for 2250. Boutique I have been eyeing has billable hour requirement of 1500-1600 and comes with a 20-25% paycut. Is this a stupid idea and should I grind it out until I can move in house? Will this ruin my opportunities down the road?

I have an experience of 6 years in Production and Application Support. I have worked as middleware administrator as well for Jboss and Weblogic.
But due to the diminishing demands of the role in IT industry , I am planning to switch my career in Devops or AWS which would help me grow.
But I am not sure without any practical knowledge, will I get a job at this many years of experience in a different profile.
Do companies hire for AWS profiles with good packages at beginners level?

Started the internal GC process in October 2018. Today I-485 status changed to "we ordered your new card." My jail free card is finally on the way I guess. Hope everyone with pending I-485 gets your GC soon!

Just venting. College friend (same ethnicity but came to US with family as a kid) told me she might get a new job offer w a smaller firm, 50% pay bump. We currently work at comparable big firms but her pay is already higher than mine (hers include stocks, mine doesn’t). We did equally well in college & I know I’m just as smart. Can’t help but feel like my career’d have been much better if I did not need sponsorship. Smaller firms don’t sponsor so I work at a big firm but pay isn’t great 🙄
