Bain & Company I’m from Italy and will start my master’s degree at Oxbridge this fall. I got my undergrad from a target uni in continental Europe. I want to start my career in consulting, possibly MBB, in London. I know consulting firms tend to hire locally but I’d really like to work in London and that’s also one of the main reasons why I went for the Oxbridge degree. Anyone, who might have some tips, or went through a similar experience? McKinsey & Company Boston Consulting Group Bain & Company

Had an interview^, it was normal until I got to one manager. She asked me ‘how would you get msg across from one state to another, without any technology or money?’
The same girl, who was interviewing me was managing a team and when I asked what her management style was - ‘I delegate everything, I don’t know anything about finance’. THIS WAS THE interviewers response to ME. It was a financial transformation role.
Last interview was with a senior manager, midway- he freaked out cuz his client pinged him. Didn’t hear from them and when I emailed the recruiter since it was the last interview-I got no response. Days later, I was connected to the recruiter on LinkedIn lol she got a new job. I asked her who to follow up with and she gave me someone thankfully.
Then spoke to that HR person and they said they’d bring me in at Sr consultant and then forgot about me 😔
1.5yrs later since joining a big4 and as an M3-deadass, a recruiter from SIA slipped in my LinkedIn asking if I’m interest in a senior manager 🫠
Moral of the story, know ya worth and stay humble! It’s a good thing somethings don’t work out.
Oh wow! I can’t believe that this kind of questions people can ask on an interview. Thanks for sharing! Good for you you got a better job!
I never got a case from sia as I interviewed with 4 people and their policy is 3+ case?
