Need an advice!!

As a person having multiple offers and finally deciding to join one particular company,
What reasons could be best to convey to the other companies' HRs for not joining them?
And ideally, when should we convey this to them?

How to switch practice areas? I’ve been in immigration for 3 years now and need a change. How do you convince employers you’re a good fit for a role you don’t have any experience with?

How do you deal with a coworker you just simply don't like as a person?

The hostility on my team is rough. We have a yeller. I walked by her room the other day. She was screaming across the room at a student, "you have to be kind to get kindness." Seriously, those were her words in a loud, berating, angry tone. Our admin has asked that we not report these. We are to talk to the teacher. She has yelled at me and other adults. Admin has to know she treats the kids this way too. One teacher has to work with her door closed to not hear the yelling all day.

Got an email from someone who is supposedly wanting to hire my firm, but a few things are giving me pause: 1) I’m a rising third year, so idk why they are emailing me, 2) it just says “dear attorney” then the short message, not my name (though practice group is correct), 3) it is from a gmail email address, not the company. So… do you think this is real? I plan to forward it to a partner, but should I first send to IT to see if it’s even real? Just seems weird to me.

I am seeing too many post about awards like rising star, Kudos, etc. People keep telling there managers recommended them for these awards.
My manager doesn't interact much with us. I consider myself as some one who has worked hard for project and other intiatives. Should I ask my manager to consider me and if yes how should I initiate it.

Anyone witness slackers who got into companies you have no idea how? Had a coworker who does jack chit at work besides chatting on Facebook yet lands at a faang company? I guess if he brings the same work ethic he will be spit out for sure. Or maybe he just had no interest in doing project work.

Any advice on how to deal with a partner/boss who is shifting all responsibility to me with zero guidance, no mentoring, and an unwillingness to discuss the issues? What is your understanding of the norms around whose names end up on a brief/complaint/motion papers etc.? I’m a midlevel at an AmLaw 20 firm and have twice been the principal drafter of something only to be cut from the signature block. The associate senior to me is on it despite having done far less of the work. And it’s not because it required a rewrite or something. The filed product is 80-90% my work. Am I wrong to be pissed off about this?

Dad passed away 2 months ago. I traveled to India and stayed for 2 months, dealt with significant red tape to close his cards, loans, transfer pensions, etc. A succession certificate is WIP for one of his accounts, so mom decided to stay back until it’s done. Mom has always refused to hire a maid, loves to hoard, cleans superficially, the house is always a mess when I visit and all my India trips are spent cleaning including this one. Now I have an offer from Accenture for 11.5 LPA fixed (current CTC : 9.5 LPA), but this is my promotion year and chances are 90% with good hike but that's effective June 2023.
