I am currently a young analyst in Consulting (1/3 of strategy work 2/3 of operations work so far) with some M&A internship. My goal is to eventually move to Corp Dev. I am enjoying my work so far so I don't wanna move if I don't need to, but, should I shift to a more finance role to be well positioned to make the jump or is it doable from Consulting?

Wondering what people think about my situation. I’ve been offered a role with a company. The job description didn’t mention college degree as a requirement. On my CV I have a section listed as “Education” and under it I have “Business Studies” with the university name and the 3 years that I attended the course (2.5 to be exact). It’s a 4 year degree and under this I have my High School equivalent with the years I attended there. The education wasn’t mentioned in the interviews. Continued below.

Currently working in-house for a large bio pharma - like the company and most of the people, but the work is really getting monotonous and I just leaned through the grapevine that I am making significantly less money ($15k to $30k) than others in the same level/grade as me. Ex-consultant now in marketing. Used to be an avid follower here and got great insights on companies when trying to exit consulting so thought I’d try here for advice. Outside of FAANG, what are good large CA-based tech companies that provide good pay, WLB, and culture? DD has great people and WLB, but pay is low and you’re not given the tools and resources to succeed + truly make an impact. Google and Apple are ideal but need backups. Like is Salesforce still good? A company along those lines.

I’m 37 and I didn’t get nominated for PCEC (mckinsey partner election). Should I give it another year knowing that it generally takes 2 election cycles and I won’t be a partner until I’m 39?
