As an Asian American, have you experienced bias this year that you believe was related to coronavirus?

I work for the US’ largest concierge healthcare company and although Covid-19 has been devastating for so many, our company constantly raves about our (recent) success and how business is booming. They have given no additional bonuses or raises to employees. My new direct report was just hired 4 weeks ago and has a large salary than I do. What’s the best way to address this was my manager as the frustration is next level and with inflation the way it is I am now struggling to get by.

I am 4 months pregnant and jus treated positive for covid. I am so scared and nervous but all the research seems to be all over the place and my doctors seem calm. But has anyone experienced this or any guidance available to share? Thank you

I am a 17 year seasoned outpatient PT in Tampa FL who is the current head PT for my clinic. I do marketing, admin duties as well as staffing. I haven’t gotten a base hourly salary raise in 8 years! (I do get a percentage of profits but due to Covid, haven’t gotten one in 2 yrs). I do not get 401k, con Ed or health insurance benefits.
Current salary is $85K. I am getting very frustrated that this has not increased even after asking. Thoughts? What to do? What do other seasoned FL PTs make?

Just read an article about how the first doses of the vaccine will be doled out. Am I the only one who is really heartened by the global response to COVID-19? Sure, the US and other countries led by conservative despots bungled it, but, on the whole humanity came together, wore masks, hunkered down, made a vaccine in record time. These actions were largely motivated by fear but also compassion for vulnerable people. I mean, we did it y’all!

I just learned that $my_western_European_city has just started rolling out the covid vaccination. Although I’d imagine it’ll be a couple more months before I can get it, I’m cautiously optimistic about the future. I seriously cannot wait to get back in the air, on expense accounts, and back yelling at clients again :D

When are we betting the office will close for this Covid19 plague?

Got put on a new birth control pill (Loestrin FE 1/20) last month for PCOS & bc cysts were still enlarging on another pill (1yr). Feel like my mood improved a lil (not as sluggish/stoic) however, I've gained 8lbs the last month — the fastest I've ever put on weight & the heaviest I've been in my life! 😔 (I used to fluctuate between 129-132 pre-covid for the last decade).

Don't want to blame the pill, but can it be why? Told me to follow-up 3mths after the new pill (Sept), but seems too far

Been crying on and off all day. It's been a rough year. Just hit the one year mark of my dog's death. Coming up on the one year anniversary of my stepdad's death. We just found out my aunt has about six months to live. Childcare is shut down due to a positive COVID case. Just struggling trying to bill my hours. I rescued a puppy Sunday night. I haven't felt that happy in so long. This morning, I rushed her to the emergency vet. She has parvo. I am not sure if I can handle it if she dies.

I’m a solo appellate attorney doing almost exclusively court-appointed work. Work is starting to dry up fast because of Covid.
