I recently went through an interview process for an investment banking role at a well respected mid market bank. I had two rounds of interviews, and the second round was with two VPs. All interviews went very well - conversation was great, and I got enthusiastic verbal feedback during and at the conclusion of each interview. It’s been three weeks and I have heard nothing, even after 2 follow ups to HR. I saw on LinkedIn they hired 2 people. I assume I got rejected - thoughts? What do I do next?

Getting an offer from Facebook but for a contractual role in the product management role of a new product they are launching. Contract for 1.5-2 years. Current hike on ctc -20 %. Payroll to be managed by a third party hr service provider. Should I take it? Currently in a stable product role in a renowned research and consulting firm.

So demotivated+disillusioned, does anyone in consulting actually do DS projects? - this is the same reason I left my last role, 6 months of interesting work and then endless dev work. Predictive models are dangled just out of reach to stop us quitting.

No longer feel qualified to apply for actual DS roles outside because I've not done any ML in so long.

I’m finding that a weird side effect of losing my job in this climate is ad agencies taking advantage of my weakened position. They get in touch, proactively or in response to my reaching out, and they want to hire me as they are in good shape. When I reveal I was laid off, the offer changes to freelance or maybe nothing. My work, awards, the fact that they know me and approached me in the first place should be enough. I don’t want to lie about my situation. Any ideas how to avoid this?

Found out I’m 7-8 weeks pregnant. I’m on a high visibility project and my role is critical. I work with very senior execs and my due date is 2 months before go live. Should I make the project leadership aware and be transparent so that they can start planning and/or look for a backfill? (I just started the project a month back)

Working at a startup, 1st role in data, 70k. Within 6 mo I became primary BI analyst working on projects across all departments. Manager thought I deserved a salary increase, director told her his hands were tied because I hadn't reached 1 year. 1 year mark(aug) I had very positive performance review, director recommended salary increase, CTO said wait for finalized budgets EOY. 1st meeting of the year was told fundraising, salary raises would be determined by EOM, now saying April WTF? Advice?

I have offer for AVP/Project manager from HSBC for 25L Fixed with 10 YoE. How much can I more negotiate with EY to make it worth skipping for HSBC. Designation Manager/level42/consulting.

Currently in ID. A recruiter reached out with a plaintiffs side property/personal injury offer. The pay is $100-200k depending on experience. Since I can’t get anymore details out of the recruiter, and don’t have any knowledge of that side of the aisle l, is there a catch here? I always figured plaintiffs side had a lower base pay but got the real money from settlements.

Just got some feedback that my resume, reads “too Black” because my involvement in D&I groups and activities...I’m offended, but are they right?

In a meeting we a client, we were looking at a stock image of a smiling Black man holding a baseball bat while wearing a hoodie. The client comments that it’s the wrong way to hold a bat. Cool. But, then follows up and says, “Also, he just looks aggressive. Like, this person would definitely attack me and my family.” I was shocked. But, apparently, I was the only one. Because everyone else on the call laughed. They were all white except for my partner who is Mexican. But, he still chuckled.

Whenever I got promoted to digital ACD a few years ago, I noticed my pay was much lower than I expected for the market I’m in, hard to find skillsets, performance, and visibility I’ve brought to the agency. I’ve brought this up a few times and was told HR would do research into salary equity, but the convo always fades. I put my foot down with my GCD, and she supports me, but I would like to come to the table with my own research. Where should I be looking for accuracy?
