Owing to recession and macro economics and the uncertainty, is it a good time to switch to Barclays now? How is the job security?

I have an offer from LTI, my joining date is in next 2 days. Today only I got an offer for higher package from another company. If I try to negotiate with LTI will they entertain in such a last moment.
I want to join LTI but with higher package.. Please suggest what would be a wise step here in my situation.
