Hi, I'm a Software Tester in Johannesburg , I've been applying everywhere , even to tester roles I don't have the experience for (I heard that it's good for the companies to have my CV in their data base), but it's really demotivating seeing that there's not many junior tester roles here in South Africa.
Does anyone have any tips or advice to how I can better equip myself with skills that would make me more desired on the market ?

Advice Request: Started my career litigating. Switched to niche transactions (so about half and half at this point). Big law specialist with an offer to be the CFO and GC of a 250M AUM hedge fund. All in comp would probably be ~$300k, so about $100k less than where I would be in big law (including bonus). Potential to get involved in the business side, but most likely more of a back office role (I would also be the only legal hire - main goal would be cutting outside legal cost and streamlining processes). Does this sound like an attractive offer? What exit options would I have?

What are your thoughts on the Scrum Master role? I’ve worked with a few now and out of 5 of them, only 1 seemed to be of any help. Most of the time we have to explain every detail multiple times and they still don’t understand what we’re doing. I feel that the role should be reserved for employees with experience in the systems they work in.

I’m up for a promotion at work and I have no idea how much to ask for since it’s not a standard position. Currently I’m a team lead and manage about 8 technicians, my promotion will be to a regional service delivery manager, and I will be managing over 30 in 3 locations. I went from a tier 1 engineer in managed servers to team lead with about a 10k increase in salary.I’m thinking about a 15k increase this time from 65k to 80k.
