I got an email from a recruiter from PayPal about a position I didn’t apply for. How do I know that? Because on workday you can see all the jobs I applied for. I applied for one position in the company but got reply for another position I am not interested in. The recruiter wants to set up a phone interview? How would you react? Because I would love working there, but not in this position,
Would you say something during the phone call or before?

Hey! Any Google folks know if it’s possible to negotiate fully remote if a contract role is hybrid? Personally, I don’t want to relocate and go to the office on a contract role given the current economy. Plus, I’m assuming contractors are the first to go in layoffs. I just think it’s a fair trade off if I’d be allowed to work fully remote. I’m also trying to have flexibility to manage my Airbnb business in a different country. Same time zone as the home office if I’d travel weeks at a time.

I would reach out to Spanish speaking individuals at the organizations you’re applying to and see if you can receive help and tips from them. I’d also go to more diversity inclusive organizations to apply for jobs as they will probably be more understanding of language barriers and focus more on the value you can bring. Also I think Texas may not be the best place to apply for jobs I’d definitely apply for remote jobs in blue states as they tend to be more accepting of cultural differences.
Obviously it’s not cut and dry but chances wise you’ll receive more support as a Latina woman.

No worked there for 3 years.
Just wanted to come back and say thank you to everyone that took a moment to reply me. Today I got an offer of 120K + bonuses.
Thank you 🙏🏻
Congrats! Now, go show them who's boss.
Look in El Paso or Dallas. There are sure to be agencies or marketing companies
Thanks for your kind reply! I’m very good at English I just get nervous when is a profesional interview. But on my daily basis I have no problem at all. I think is mostly because I don’t have US Work experience that companies decide not give me the chance.
Job hunting in general is hard. So don't worry, you'd get something soon, keep searching and interviewing.
I think the only thing you need to tackle is your nervousness. Try to relax and talk to them as though they're your friends and you're explaining what you did in previous roles to them. It doesn't matter WHERE this role was, it could be in Jupiter or Saturn. All you're trying to do is tell them the problems you helped solve for these companies and why you can also do it for them.
I don't think they rejected you because your experience was not from the US. They had your resume, they already know your experience was not from the US but they still wanted to interview you and learn more.
I think it's the nervousness (which is fine when it's a little bit), but being overly nervous will affect your confidence and make it appear as if you are not sure of what you are saying.
So my friend, I want you to go into your next interview in full confidence. You solved big problems in your previous companies, position yourself as that problem solver and tell them the story of how you did it. Remember that they are also as nervous as you are when interviewing you but whoever is able to mask their nervousness to an extent has the upper hand.
You don't have to limit yourself to spanish-owned companies. Apply to all companies you're interested in and continue putting in your best.
All the best in your search.
Best reply ever! Thank you so much!
Yes definitely try to cold LinkedIn connect with people from organizations you’re interested to work for!
