Dependent on salary and if you and your partner are both employed. The HDHP and HSA usually comes out cheaper. You hit your deductible early with all the doctors visits and hospital/birthing center costs.
HDHP is the way to go especially if you have a fairly healthy family. You’ll end up paying less overall.
Go for more coverage, especially if you’re considering pregnancy.
Even with pregnancy HDHP covers 90% after deductible. You’ll more than likely cover your deductible by the time it’s birth time. If the birth costs 30k you’re paying 10%. On that remaining 10% you’ll be able to negotiate your bill down.
The HDHP with Aetna says all preventative screening and testing is covered (deductible not applicable) would this mean all the milestone visits wouldn’t have to come out of pocket anyway?
