Question database only. Everything else is worthless.
Shit, I’m transferring to China
Exactly what kpmg 1 said. Studied for an hour or 2 during week for a month and passed first time. It’s not a difficult test imo
Its not beneficial for anything other than helping you get another job or promotion. You learn how to do your job on the job not through the CISA study materials. Procedures and guidance are followed according to PwC/aicpa/pcaob or whatever firm you work at, not ISACA or cisa.
Yeah, but it doesn't really teach you anything useful about IT Auditing. I dare you to go find materials from ISACA on standard GITC control expectations or attributes of related controls. Doesn't exist.
It does open doors to IT audit jobs for sure. But when you are actually doing IT auditing, I don’t find that studying for the CISA helped me be a better IT auditor since you learn on the job and learn based on company procedures.
Agreed - it is an additional certification, always helpful to have, but best learning is done in the job. Also use the question bank online - the books are useless! And the classes are useless as well especially if you didn't go to school for IT. There is an assumed level of knowledge in those review classes before you walk in the door.
If you get CIA and CISA, you get around 400 dollars more EACH MONTH at PwC China.
Haha same is AICPA, extra 400 dollars each month as you as you work there.
*As long as*
Have you all found it beneficial in your routine audits? Or, do you only recommend it for people specially doing IT portions of FS audits?
It is completely useless, or very close to it, even within IT Audit.
Doesn't open doors to IT audit jobs?
