I have heard different opinions based on the lawyer I’ve spoken to. For example, my lawyer said I don’t need an amendment and my colleague(exactly the same situation) was told he needs an amendment. I worked out of JC for more than a year and had no issues. However, this was more than a year ago.

I need help asking for help - more specifically identifying what exactly others can help with. There are extenuating circumstances in most cases but I’ve had coworkers out in bereavement, project scopes increasing, and my own capacities are shrinking with burnout - I can’t focus, misreading/misinterpreting, I’m spacing on finding documents/notes, and overall inefficient between calls with the volumes of emails. Friends & manager tell me I’m being too hard on myself, but work is only piling on

Touchy feely client asked me today, “how come you never talk about your family? Don’t you get along with them? Family is so important to me.” I’ve been feeling particularly alone and lonely during Covid, but even before... I’m 50, single, never been in a relationship, really feeling kind of down at this “midpoint” in my life. I kind of keep people at arms length especially clients I’ve never even met in person. 😔 How do you even respond?

My manager doesn’t seem to have any boundaries - always saying yes to additional unnecessary work from the client and always working through weekends/nights/PTO/holidays. They are supportive of encouraging everyone else to have a WLB but since they don’t lead by example it ends up making me feel like I’m doing something wrong or crossing a line whenever I set a boundary with them or push back on a request that doesn’t align with our goals or priorities

Rather than continuing to pay big $$$ for inconsistent and unreliable care, it thinking of driving to my dads house to let him take the kids while I work from his home office. May be problematic if Both me and my husband are needed in the office. Do you think it’s a good idea? Will save me $260 per day / $520 per week

Maybe a strange take but I think that we should be more in touch with our internal bodies. We can send astronauts to the moon and rovers to mars but there’s no easy, portable way to scan our bodies to see what’s going on inside (e.g., a DIY full body xray or MRI). I think this could be the next gen of weighing scales that also show various health metrics, track fitness, etc. It could help with prevention and diagnosis. I guess it’s bad for health providers who make $ today from this. Thoughts?

Looking for (adaptive, preferably) educational technology for ELA to be used in classrooms as both enrichment for students identified as gifted as well as re-teaching, offering helpful support for students who struggle. Has anyone found anything that does both well? Looking especially for a tool that teachers can get behind and that students enjoy/find easy to use. What do you love? What do you hate? This would be targeted to grades 1-6 primarily, but it needs a high ceiling.
