Thanks for the clarification D6. Yes. Up to 100hrs for a short, 3-6 week strategy project. Timing is more so based on clients needs to get things done yesterday. Also need to consider 2-5 proposals in the queue at any given time...

40-45 unless I'm doing BD work. I'm lucky to have some semblance of work/life balance!
50-60 average. As high as 70-80 during implementations. Technology.
@KPMG OP, Consultant but have been taking SC roles consistently for six months (replacing them or filling those roles on projects, so I've definitely had to overcome a learning curve ==> more hours).
50-55, SC SI Implementation work. Thursday is usually at 14-15 hour day though so I relax and just monitor email on Fridays.
The P1 methodology
typical week: 60 hours, Manager, Tech Strategy
I don't think that comfort with working hours or lack thereof will be a determinant in MBB being a real option for you...in other words, make a decision to cross the bridge when you get to it
