My boss makes jokes about me being from a different country whenever there is a work meeting or a gathering with coworkers, even though he knows where I am from. This usually occurs when I meet new work-related people or for example if I am in a situation that involves ethnic related subjects.

What is this? This is normal?

I am frustrated as a Gay Woman who has given her all for 30+ years grinding to be the best. I have been in closet, out of closet, in-between and am tired of it. I want to be VALUED as a human being. I have gone from Rock Star to problem when people "found out". I have trained and promoted hundreds of people and been passed over for promotions because of not being a man. I have trained men with less experience, worse results only for them to move forward. If Diversity is important...prove it!

I find myself in workshops and meetings, groups of 15-20 people, and I’m always the only woman. In my entire department, there are no other women. My company is in need of a update online, could use your opinions! We need to better showcase our culture (caring, supportive, fun, intelligent IT industry leaders) as well as diversity. We are predominantly white still but making strides to improve here. What’s the best way to approach? I don’t want to seem disingenuous or that we are singling out our diverse employees (asking for photos). We have a remote and on-site workforce about 350+ EEs. Non white EEs make up about 35% of the company rn.

How do you deal with your “mentor” being threatened by your performance and gatekeeping information from you? Then turning around and giving you shit for not knowing things… but they don’t tell you anything and there is no way for you to know. My learning and development is being hindered and I’ve felt this for a long time, but coworker just confirmed this is the case. Working at a company and they can’t seem to hold on to their female, black and people of color employees. I blinked and 3 of the people who were in my onboarding class were either fired or they left. For context I’ve been in company less than a year and there are people who have been in the company 25yrs. I’m thinking of cutting loose before it gets to my turn.

Hi, we just launched Diversity and inclusion committee at our work place and one of our many initiatives is to share some reminders /notifications about safety and inclusion in common employee platforms/portals e.g There’s no place or time when discrimination is acceptable.
