But the lease states this property is exempt from the Tenant Protection Act, which limits how much landlords can increase your rent by. The landlord is a “limited partnership (LP)”company. And the owner is a Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT). Is this property truly exempt?

I recently sign a lease. The apartment will put my security deposit into an interest-bearing account and requires me to fill out a form W9. However, it is far away, and will require 1h+ train/car commute vs. 10 min biking right now. We are scared it will bite us back at some point, although COVID helped w/ remote working being a new norm. The project will be done 2024, so I hope to have a more relax job by then.
