When you play games, you tend to make wild moves out of excitement, disappointment, and all the other emotions. Gaming chairs are meant to compliment the flailing arms and the punches of mad gamers ;)
I tend to do the same motions during client calls.
Gaming chairs add roughly 50fps to your computer when playing online competitive shooter games.
There are good and bad gaming chairs - don't buy those under $150, but some in $150-400 are worth their price.
I bought this gaming chair from Costco for $160; red version of the pic. It is very comfortable for long hours at work. I have been using this for over a year now; no complaints, highly durable.

That’s exactly the one I’m looking at! Thanks.

Gaming chairs are a bad investment

Why?
In general, gaming chairs are better for a slight back recline, but their main selling point is their looks. It’s intended to look like a racing chair, which is somehow “cool”.
In terms of ergonomics, they usually don’t have as many adjustment options as true office ergonomic chairs (think Herman Miller, Steelcase, Humanscale products). They’re also not as good if you want to lean forward, and don’t have the same back support.
If you’re looking at a good chair for computer usage, I’d go with an actual office chair (and this is coming from a gamer).
