How do I pivot from a broker to any job in tech?
Wanted to highlight Prudential Financial’s hiring practices. They rescinded my offer once I attempted to negotiate the salary. The official reason given was that I didn’t “sound excited enough”.
They then admittedly gave the offer to someone who was less qualified. There were other red flags throughout the job offer process that the HR team should overall be ashamed of.

I am a graduating student who just got offered 65k for a solution analyst role at Deloitte USDC (Data Engineering Focus). From reading previous posts it seems to be a lot of negative thoughts surrounding the USDC, but straight out of college is this a good opportunity?
I'm looking to gain as much experience as possible out of college in an IT role and wondering what exit opportunities may be in place a year or two down the road if there is little/slow progression.
Any Advice?

Ah, someone is interviewing at Vista
Vista - good tech firm.
And in the sense of being able to move into the “P&L” role within the private equity firm itself - worse than traditional corporate strategy in that it’s exceedingly unlikely. As has been said before the value creation team is a second (sometimes third) class citizen in terms of money and prestige.
But at some point - who cares? If the job and culture appeal to you, then it shouldn’t matter as much.

Agreed with a1, and m1, vista (I actually interned there) treats it’s V.C. Folks well below those into P&L or other front line roles.
That being said, culture is good, pay is pretty awesome, especially since most of vista is based in Austin or Chicago (again, assuming this is the place you’re talking about).
It’s not equivalent to a deal team role, but you have good exposure to deal team captains, Ops principals, portco CEOs.
Great opportunity to make a career within the ecosystem - past directors have exited into P&L roles at portcos, some at C suite level.
If it is Vista, you should just ask current D’s/AD’s there about their experiences - many fellow alums from BCG who would help.
