Why do we give awards to students for ideas that will never happen/are ridiculous? Netflix will never make an ad unit on their app, that would sell you Burger King burgers when burgers appear in movies or shows. That's just stupid. How did this win? What am I missing?

Are you actually willing to leave without another job lined up?
Then don’t start the conversation until you have an offer
Why not look for a new job to see that you can even get a better package?
If you do, then you can either leave or try to use the offer as leverage for higher pay, although this might sour your relationship with your current company. If you can't find anything better, then now you know you're getting paid market rate and don't have a leg to stand on.
As others have said, it would be wise to have another offer in hand to use as negotiating leverage. You need to be actually willing to leave if you go to negotiate and they say no.
