How do I take zoom interviews if my office is mandating me to be back in almost every day? It’s tough to schedule all interviews on my 2 remote days. Is it in poor taste to prop up my phone and take the interview in a conference room on a mobile device?

Suggest you play it open with your potential new recruiter. Employers prefer honest employees and I typically make accommodations for new recruits in interview stage. Also, 2/5 days is 40% remote so that’s a good chance to schedule your interviews. I wouldn’t use your current employers space to do interviews, that’s not professional in my view.

Unless your team knows you’re leaving/recruiting, then it’s poor taste. You just need to go back to pre-COVID excuses like doctors appointments, apartment tours, coffee with a friend, etc.

Just schedule the interviews in the morning prior to 8.00 am - 10 am, do them from home and come into the office around 10.30.

Welcome back to the normal recruiting environment. If you are comfortable using a conference room go for it but that is wild and would get called out instantly here

Doctors appointment. Rent out an office space

I currently work at a very ”hyped” food delivery tech company. I’ve been there for 1,5 years now, but the pay is low, bad company culture and I don’t feel appreciated for the work I do. So i’m overall not to happy there, and looking for a new job. However every interview I’ve had so far ask why I want to leave such a ”great” company after less than 2 years? I don’t want to shittalk my job but it’s really makes me feel like i should stay another 6m just so I don’t look bad. What would you do?

So I interviewed with an agency pre pandemic but of course rona put everything on hold. They really liked me according to an inside source. I have so much mom guilt sending my baby to daycare. She’s 6 months old. The transition has been harder on me than her (she seems fine and happy, just isn’t sleeping well there yet) but I wonder if I should try and find a different solution. Part time nanny, part time daycare? We can’t afford a nanny full time. If I’m WFH and we have a nanny part time is it realistic that I’d see her during the day or am I kidding myself?

Need to move to the burbs w/fiancee, but where? Staying in BK is not an option, though we will eventually work in the city 1-2 days/week (someday?). Won't do long island, need a 2 car garage w/space to work on cars and also space for a woodshop whether it's in basement or elsewhere. Planning on having kids and because we'll work from home a lot still need office space. I grew up in burbs and it wasn't so bad because I lived walking distance to train station into the city & nice downtown. 800k!

Someone want to explain how everyone in consulting can be this duped... we accept promotions for more responsibilities without knowledge of compensation... that literally doesn’t happen anywhere else. How dumb are we? Ps. I don’t count myself, I’ve never taken a promotion without jumping firms :) though plan on doing it next year - as SM

Hi! I have two offers and I’m not sure what to do. One is with a small firm that serves as outside counsel to medical practices (leasing, employment issues and acquisitions are primary work load) and the other is in-house for a pharmaceutical company (managing outside counsel, vendor contracts, privacy). The firm pays much better (1800 hours, flexible wfh) but I feel like the experience in house would go further in becoming a GC down the road. Please help!
