Well, they're actually doing meaningful work, so...
Seriously, she'll come back from a shift and tell me some crazy story about a patient or how someone coded and they had to bring them back to life... and then I tell her about some dank PowerPoint I worked on. Makes me question consulting sometimes 🤔
It all varies on specialty and location, private practice, etc. No easy answer, honestly. I think it's safe to say that consulting earns more money in absolute dollars if you play your cards right, but honestly... This life sucks
My wife is an ICU nurse and she cleared $127k in 2016 (with OT). So she made more than me that year
ICU nurse is also an insane fucking job. I mean we don't have to watch people die on the daily (at least I hope none of us do) And by the way my mom and stepmom are both nurses so I have mad respect for their profession.
Physician Assistant is a two year masters degree. Can earn $60-70k starting out. Wife now makes $90k. Can earn more with specialisation. Incredibly flexible and will always be in demand
Waay waay to much variability to compare . I'm the only one in my family outside the field
Dentists make the same amount as partners .. Are you kidding me ?
It is not uncommon for RNs to clear $100k working three days a week (36 hours) with 3-4 years experience. Many health systems have chosen to start internal float pools vs hiring travel or agency RNs to address staffing needs. $50+ per hour, plus shift differential if you work evenings, nights, or weekends.
A2 damn PowerPoint 😂 you the homie for sure
*dank
Pharmacists are generally two types - retail (Walgreens type) or clinical (work in hospitals in medical teams); retail starts off at 120ish and somewhat stays around there pretty much and clinical starts 80ish but needs residency where you make 50kish but over all the trajectory of increase in salary varies. You can also take corporate jobs like research for big pharma or consultancy to make a lot of money. Teach etc.
My pa is a pharmacist and makes ~130k in our tiny ass rural town
@ey1 dentists do not make partner money! Lol!
OP, depends on what you do as a dentist. General bs specialty. Private vs employee. Etc. My dentist friend with his own clinic is making $2m a year (older, more established, in his 40s). My other dentist friend who just graduated and working for someone is making $$210K
