How do you all deal with the guilt that comes along with working too much and missing important moments in the lives of your loved ones? I'm really wondering if it's time to take a sabbatical and pursue something else because I'm not doing much living these days.

Once I had kids I switched to working in a small practice with more limited hours. I'm home by 5:30 every night and have weekends off to spend with friends and family.

Make a change. You gotta do it. I have found that Employers won’t do it for us or help us create the environment we need. I did what I said I’d never do. Left FQHC/non-profit corporate medicine. Started a small private practice and now looking for a part time “job” to cover benefits. Sooo much happier. Good luck!

Boutique or big 4?

I'm currently an ops manager at a big 4 in London and received an offer from a small boutique firm with 25-30% pay rise.

I'm also in the process with Accenture but I feel like I'm not sure if I'd jump just for the money but also change in environment.

For questions as to why you are looking to leave your current firm.. I am looking to move because for some reason I am hand-held a lot and given simpler tasks, so I am getting bored and want more challenging / much more fast paced environment. Also kind of bored because I am on one project for a long time and I want exposure to variety of projects. Is this a fair answer or would I be seen as arrogant? Is there a better way to frame my answer?

Thanks!
