Address is immediiately. If you ignore it, it will happen again and send the wrong message. Pull the person into your office and have a conversation. Clearly state the expectations for their behaviors and what will not be tolerated. Let them know they can disagree with things at times but must remain professional. Hopefully, this verbal warning will be sufficient, but if not, make sure you are documenting everything. You may need to take additional steps (written reprimand, HR, etc).

Get with your HRBP tomorrow and confirm the correct process of corrective action & PIP. Document convos, etc. Do not shoot from the hip or else your problem will get worse and this person may be kept on longer due to legal wanting to avoid a lawsuit due to improper termination!
I dealt with it by going through the process and giving them a PIP. This was years ago and that’s how I dealt with it so I’m glad that I was on the right track. Thank you for asking!
