Dont eliminate HDP without doing research. consider the health plan navigator tool to get idea of money you spend/save for each plan. HDP still helps you save given the premium you pay for other plans. so research and decide within the next 24 hrs
I have the same question, but I'm still debating between high deductible vs. the other.
I have a spreadsheet. Input in expected doctors visits and rx fills, with current years costs associated, tally up deductible and coinsurance amounts, and add in total premium contributions. Then repeat calculation for alternative plan. options to see which one would give me a total lower "oop" cost for the year.
I’ve had HDP for the last few years but thinking of switching up this year because I plan to do several specialist visits. Otherwise I do like HDP too because I barely go to the doctor once a year so far.
If you want to pay copay for every visit and you dont care about the yearly premium, then PPO is the plan.
Don’t rule out HDHP. If funded correctly it is usually the best plan for people.
Thanks for the input everyone. I went with HDP
