Has anyone interviewed with Amazon in the last 6 months. I finished my loop for a finance role. It’s been 8 business days and no update from the recruiter. I mailed the recruiter who said apologies for the delay but we will get back to you with next steps. Has anyone had this experience and what was the outcome Amazon

Does the contract role give you a unique opportunity you aren’t going to easily find through full-time employment? That would be the deciding factor for me. I could be back in the job market regardless.
I made this move although my story was a bit different. I stopped practising for 3 years and then wanted to practice in house (I was in a commercial contracts role previously) but it was hard to get an ongoing role because I didn’t have a valid practising certificate. I took an in house lawyer role maternity leave position for 12 months to get my foot in the door in house and also get off my restricted PC and honestly 4 months in I don’t regret it at all. 12 months is actually a long time as you learn about new systems, clients and areas of law. Think of it as a spring board into a permanent role.
Also the company may have a slight restructure where roles become available or more funding to fund for a new resource, as it was in my case. In my case the person I’m covering for got promoted so my role is effectively vacant and the company are considering on keeping me (nothing set in stone but that’s what I’ve been told). Either way it’s an opportunity where you’ll be able to grow and learn which is a step closer to your next big thing.
In my opinion the risk is worth taking if you’re going to grow from it which you definitely will.

Evaluate contract vs full time options based on: Pay, company (ex. contract role at Google might be more attractive than a dire hire position at a startup), chance of conversion, role responsibilities, and are you currently in a stable position or out of work?
