Realize that people like to talk about themselves. Ask questions like, “why did you decide to join this firm? What made you stay here so long?” If you treat it like a new client interview, you will always get the job. Shows you know how to do your job. I hire everyone that asks me why I’m sitting in my chair talking to people that are sitting on their.
Breathe. Relax. Interview is only a conversation, make sure you prepare beforehand and be yourself.
Do some light exercise before hand (phone interviews) Write down notes to key questions on post its and keep them in front of you Practice answering questions ahead of time
I try make small talk with someone (receptionist, other candidates, etc.) before the interview starts. Helps a lot with nerves because you're already smiling and talking
