Rising Star
I'm an old bat, so I'm less and less concerned with how I'm perceived... So I just ask. I ask about accommodations during the interview process, and on the job. I ask about employee resource groups for neurodiverse employees. I ask about disability groups, too, since the goals and tactics are often aligned between those two communities.
Open to discussion or disagreement, but I feel like most companies don’t know how to deal with it and would rather not be ‘on the hook’ once you tell them. If you don’t want to directly ask, which I understand, I’d maybe look at asking about general support, any flexibility, things that are still good to ask about and see how they respond.
This is a great idea. OP can think through what types of accommodations or flexibility you’d need and ask about those specific things (I.e. not using the term “accommodation” or disclosing a disability but just asking about specific things you need).
Before even applying is tough, unless they specifically address it on their career site. But ask for accommodations during the interview process and see how they react/respond
I agree with what ED1 said about accommodations. Unfortunately, a lot of workplaces are still pretty behind the times when it comes to understanding or assisting those of us who aren't neurotypical. They will talk a big game about being inclusive, but when the time comes to provide extra support, we're pretty much told to figure it out on our own.
See if they list an ND focused ERG on their website.
