Any advice on moving from L4 to L5 in Amazon?
Please evaluate this initial offer for Apple ICT3. I think I was low balled, but I want to take more opinions. Currently Sr. MTS at VMware, received Apple ICT3. I was expecting to get to ICT4 but seems like team thinks upper end of ICT3 is more apt. Also, I think it is because I don’t have any counter offers yet.
Received offer

I've been in the IT industry for well over 27 years and one thing I've learned over the years is that you cannot please everyone despite your best efforts. Some managers have their favorites and will always acknowledge or praise them over you despite your best efforts. If you feel that you're not getting the recognition you deserve for the hard work you put in, then perhaps it's time to move on from that job and look for other opportunities where you will be valued and recognized for your skills and efforts. Document everything you do so that you have a paper trail to justify your efforts and achievements.
Yes I am keeping all the “evidence” of my work but at the end , it comes to who your boss likes the most regardless of your work. At least that’s what I have seen so far

just working to target will never get you noticed. do that, but also regularly ask your boss for feedback, extra projects, and if there is anything they need help with.

Depends on the manager, company culture, and what is seen as value add. I agree that this can be incredibly political and there are always favorites. Hero work is not sustainable so don’t worry about other people, try to showcase how you are meeting/exceeding targets by working smarter with data/metics/productivity measures. As a manager, I am always more interested in the how people are working than reward just volume.
Thanks !
Identify problems that your boss is having and bring them solutions. Then help execute those solutions.
Seems like you've got a knack for estimation and tracking, which is a top-notch skill to have! You're already on top of keeping records, so make sure to emphasize your track record of hitting deadlines (or giving a heads-up when there's a hiccup).
