So I've had 2 hiring managers and several recruiters from Amazon reach out to me about applying for some open positions with the company (android). I completed the coding assessment and now they want me to go through a round of 5 hour interviews next week. Is there a good chance I'll be hired if engineering managers are reaching out to me? I'm really not sure how badly I want to work for them and I don't want to be laid off months after being hired on. Anyone know what Amazon hiring is like?
Unfortunately, Many are getting impacted by today's layoffs across the organisations and it is super hard to cope up mentally and financially. I came across few openings related to Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) consultants, experience ranging 4-12 Yrs. Please reach out to Teja Chandrashekar (teja@vdigitise.com), Phone: 7672030466. Hope this can help some of you to get back onto the feet. Kindly like, comment or share for better reach. Thanks much!! #experience #share #help #consultants

1) Your agency loses a big client and/or several clients reduce their scope.
2) Nobody has given you new projects to start in a while
3) hr or your manager schedules a random meeting on a Friday, typically at the end of the month or pay cycle
Got it thank you
I witnessed it go down at my company and I noticed a few patterns. I luckily was spared.
-Accounts lost or work paused is not a good sign
-Not having many billable hours consistently
-HR and managers scheduling bursts of 15 min meetings
-Out of the blue all hands meetings
While I don’t agree with it necessarily, there also seemed to be an element of politics involved. People who were negative or difficult at times, didn’t participate in coming to the office,” or culture events, and also newer hires seemed to have been let go. If you’re worried you’re going to be laid off, it won’t hurt to be “seen” sometimes.
Leadership repeated many times before layoffs that everything was fine which was a lie. If you are worried even remotely about the possibility then I suggest you have a copy of all your work immediately and your book updated. I need to take that advice myself.
Amazing advice
People will always be people. So even when a person has to let someone go professionally, they can’t help but act personally (fighting it is even more obvious). And, as people, we pick up on our boss’s people energy.
That’s why, as a manager, it’s so important to call it quickly. The longer you wait, the longer the person’s purgatory, and that’s a shit thing to sustain no matter what.
Or you get an early morning email from your manager on a rainy Thursday in September alerting you to a “difficult conversation” they’ve scheduled with you for noon that day with HR. Can confirm from recent personal experience that’s pretty much a guarantee you’re getting laid off.
Happened to me too. Like, email me 15 min before
I was just laid off yesterday and had soo much downtime beforehand. For the past few months they struggled to put me on long term projects. I kinda figured it was coming and when it would come, I’d be cut. Just couldn’t get me on enough stuff
Yeah just not really on long term projects. They didn’t have the work to give me. I was on a bunch of one-off stuff that sucked.
If it’s Friday
What other factors? Like personality? Relationships? Work rate? Restructuring for diversity? Getting too wasted at the agency party?
Thank you guys! Alcohol .. lord lol would have never known. Great info
