In pre onboarding form epam is asking contact number and email id of ex supervisors and hrs from my past organizations. I don't have contact details of my managers with whom I worked 8 years ago. All other companies only ask experience certificate only which I have. How to tackle this?EPAM Anywhere EPAM Systems

I have the same question. Only seen analysts start right out of school. I’ve had a few people confirm that it is rare to lateral into it.
Network and reach out to analysts, associates and VPs at different investment banks. Google “lateral IB process WSO” and you’ll find a ton of threads on Wall Street oasis outlining the process.
All this info is out there, just have to be resourceful and find it. Short answer to your question: you lateral into IB by being resourceful
What is WSO
Also depends on your current job and experience. I have seen someone lateral into IB at the junior level from an FP&A role, but it took 9+ months of heavy networking and they had to be very crisp on technical interview questions. Also when they got the job they started off as an analyst 1 (same as people right out of undergrad). Again rare, but possible and you need to be prepared to start from the bottom.
Otherwise my recommendation would be to get an MBA and recruit to banking at the Associate level.
Thanks for your suggestions! 9+ months does sound heavy — did the person actually have a timeline in mind (knowing that there would be an opening & planning to apply around some time), or was it more like exploring and waiting until he/she found out there’s an opportunity?
