How do you really know when it’s time to leave? I’ve been in my current role for a few years now, and while the paycheck is steady and the hours aren’t unbearable, I can’t shake the feeling I’m stuck. I don’t get much client exposure, the work is repetitive, and there’s no clear path forward beyond “keep doing the same thing.” Some days I wonder if I’m coasting, and other days I worry I’m quietly parking my career in a dead end. The stability is nice, but still.

Landed a contract role at Deloitte via MBO Partners for an audit senior role. MBO is making me a W-2 employee for MBO, but I am getting paid $125/hour plus overtime. Am I missing something here or am I about to be making $5K/week (or more with OT)? Anyone have any experience with MBO or doing contract work like this? Considering pivoting into a local MM IB. As my title suggests, my technical skills aren’t as honed as one who has focused on the analysis route. How much of being an Analyst at a smaller IB is technical skill heavy coming into the role? I hold my 7, 66, 24, and am not worried about getting the 79. Any input for how realistic this is? When looking at one particular firm’s career page it doesn’t mention technical skills or modeling once, which led me to believe it may be less important than soft.

I’m worried that my voice, communication style, and body language comes across as too effeminate for our straight clients and peers. I’m transitioning to sales now and am insecure that my personality and appearance may hinder sales gen? Client industry is very old school. Advice Request: Started my career litigating. Switched to niche transactions (so about half and half at this point). Halfway through a year long sabbatical and reevaluating what I want to do (left before jumping to Senior associate). I’d like to get into litigation again in a practice group I don’t have experience in. Any suggestions on how to do this? How to approach firms and partners etc? Past 2 firms on my resume are top 30.
