Just as you would respectfully and professionally decline anywhere else. Pretend you never heard that info but didn’t want to interview any longer for any number of reasons. Choose your favorite: My current job gave me a counteroffer I couldn’t refuse.
Thanks for the time and opportunity but I realized I’m not ready to say bye to my current company.
Thank you but I’m actually not sure this is a good fit.
I enjoyed learning about your company but I’ve decided to not pursue other opportunities at this time
“It’s not you, it’s me"
Which place?
Be vague. Say you’ve reconsidered your decision to leave, thank them for their time.
Not a good fit and then find a acceptable reason. Something like I’m looking to grow into a more leadership position and this felt more like an individual contributor job or something like that. Make it up if you have to. Don’t burn bridges or suggest you found out something unpleasant about the culture. Places change and you don’t want to be locked out fiorevet just because it’s toxic at the moment
One insider told you this and that is your reason?
Is what the one person said validated by any other sources? Because if you can find me an agency that doesn’t have one unhappy person working there, I will gladly forward $100 to you via PayPal.
Be honest. Tell them what you have heard and that it is a shame but culture etc is important. They should respect you and ideally ask you what you would do about it if you were there and/or fix it
