Should I get a CPA for Transaction Due Diligence?
I’m a new grad working in FDD and I’m trying to decide if becoming a CPA is worth it. I do not plan on staying in accounting in the future. I’m more interested in strategy work. I certainly do not want to do Audit. Would you recommend getting the CPA considering my career aspirations? Do you think it’s worth it? If not, what is the best way to use my time efficiently?

I have a Bs in Construction Management and over 15 years experience with Revit and AutoCAD and 7 years of plumbing design. I have solid references and impeccable work ethic. I truly enjoy what I do. My supervisor took over the steps i was supposed to perform during final deployment and there was a mess up. All management people think it was me. What should I do? I am looking for promotion this year and this will bring down my ratings? Should I talk to my SM who is above my supervisor? I have split up my snapshots for reviews between SM and my supervisor. So both of their reviews will matter to me ???

M/SM and above, why do you label a meeting as “touch point” or ask if you can have a “quick chat” when it’s something serious? Millennials like us always assume we’re about to get fired - I actually have been laid off in a meeting with that title. But at my new job, my boss asked for a “quick chat” to literally ask me to change the title of a meeting and then chat about christmas. Now that I’m in management, I want to understand it better.

Discussion post: I feel almost all consulting firms are the same. Mbb, big 4 etc. if you are paid enough there is probably less wlb. If there is good wlb there is not much money. Can you single out a company that you can confidently say pays very well and also has good wlb and also has good opportunities etc.?
