How does one go about networking when searching for a remote job? I used to attend a lot of local events when I was in college around 2018/19 pre-pandemic days for connections and career advice, but I’m wondering if in-person local ones would even serve much of a purpose now? I once asked a colleague at a radio company how much he's paid monthly, and he outright refused to tell me. In fact, he found it very odd that I asked. I later learned that he was making double my salary. I know it's not an employee's job to fix pay inequity by sharing their salary figures, but I'm still of the opinion that it helps uncover pay gaps. I miss music. Like actual bands with instruments and vocal ability. Feels like the music industry is so hollowed out that multi-member instrumental bands like Fleetwood Mac, The Beatles, and even Metallica are no longer able to take root.

There are a few talented individual singers (Adele) a lot of awful mumble rappers, but no actual bands that will stand the test of time. Before I get called a Boomer, the problems with the music industry for new artists are well documented.
