Hey! Any Google folks know if it’s possible to negotiate fully remote if a contract role is hybrid? Personally, I don’t want to relocate and go to the office on a contract role given the current economy. Plus, I’m assuming contractors are the first to go in layoffs. I just think it’s a fair trade off if I’d be allowed to work fully remote. I’m also trying to have flexibility to manage my Airbnb business in a different country. Same time zone as the home office if I’d travel weeks at a time.

I do not consider color to be unprofessional. I like patterns and color. Not everything has be in a depressing grey suit.
It will seem polished to use coordinated jewel tones. While pastels can also look good, they may need to be grounded by tailoring, since a billowing pastel top and skirt will probably look less formal.
It's generally fine to wear a bright blouse with black slacks or a solid-color cardigan with a dress that's more neutral in tone. You're not limited to using blushes and taupes. I've personally never had a problem with wearing color at work.
In my opinion, color is less significant than cut and fabric when it comes to seeming professional. A bright pink sheath that truly fits you will look more put together than a poorly fitting black one.
It really isn't a norm to wear bright colors to office especially if you work in a very traditional work environment. It's not bad but they prefer neutrals.
At my office, we aren't technically allowed but we are encouraged to wear achromatic colors. Pop of colors are too striking for our management.
I think it's fine if you're still working from home but once you return to office, I'm pretty sure the seniors will stare daggers your way.
Have you observed your other colleagues wearing bright colors to work? It really depends on your company. But most companies prefer black, white, grey, and brown.
I would love to wear anything other than my uniform which is white. I love hearing stories from others who WFH though. thanks for sharing
Been working from home since August and I can say that the only time I get to dress up is when we have meetings. That's why I make sure to go all out. I also have fun with vibrant colors glad I'm not the only one
I love it! In and outside the office! Maybe not neons for work but seeing people in bright colors totally brightens my day :)
The company is cool with it. I’ve seen people at the office mix it up
I work at an office where bright colors aren't really a thing tbh :( every time I do get comments about it so I kinda stay away, but my office is deffo more traditional than most!
I work in a male-dominated firm, and I love how none of them bat an eyelash whenever I wear bright, preppy colors. Some of them reacted cheerily back when I first did it, but now it's become a regular thing for us in the office that they don't even care.
Unless you work in the creative industry, it wouldn't matter. But since you work from home, I think it's fine since your entire shirt won't be seen by the camera.
Conservative at office and home for video meetings. The basics black, white, grey, brown, and cognac, brandy wine, navy. In winter I wear tights Euro or Sydney style (oh yeah with some contrast, patterns and color - Gasp). Will also wear plaids with a thin color line and I do wear classic pinstripes with grey, light blue, cranberry, light pink stripes on black, midnight blue, smoke or grey. Will wear color in scarves, maybe a leather belt. If no clients visiting, I get to lighten up a bit and wear more color, cotton and linen suits (not often and only in summer).
