Mr. Manager is posting again y'all 🤡
I have an initial recruiter phone interview with Square Thursday. Is it it just a phone call or is it a video call and they didn’t specify. If it’s a video call what’s the dress code like? I’m coming from consulting so all my interviews were in suits. Any tips to get past the recruiter phone screen?

As early as possible.
Sometimes buying too early is also expensive. I would say keep checking but based on my experience 3-4 months in advance is a good time.
Flying southwest from the US to Asia is wild.

Put a price tracker on the flight from Google flights. Watch to understand the market and purchase when you feel things moved in right direction. For transpacific I usually caught the sweet spot for lower fares inside of 6 months. The link from Google will deep link you to the airline to purchase. Buying direct gives leverage when things go wrong and you don’t need to call your third party.

Are you planning on using credit card / airline points? Or paying cash ?
Credit card points (Chase UR, Amex MR, etc) or just charging the flight to your credit card. Two different approaches.
If using points and airline transfer partners, it’s not too early to look for award seat availability. Websites like Seat Aero (pro version) are a great award ticket website aggregator.

Expedia offers price protection on most flight. I’m not sure of limitations on international flights. If you have gold status with Expedia it’s free. I’ve gotten back at least $1000. On most tickets I get something back, sometimes it’s a lot. If you don’t have status you can buy it. I’m not sure of the cost.
