How is everyone doing with the storm?? If your area is getting hit are you still going to the office or are you able to stay home? We are still needing to be there.

Still having to go in. But no worries, my boss assures me he's "monitoring the situation" 🙄. Roads were a mess this morning. Stay safe out there.

Biggest eye roll. Hope you’re staying safe!

The office was completely shut down on Monday. While the snow and ice weren’t too severe, the temperatures were bitterly cold. Today is also extremely cold, though clearer, with the ice gone and just a bit of snow remaining. I’ve been checking power outage maps and hope that everyone without power is staying safe. I’m working from home today and plan to be back in the office tomorrow. Fortunately, we don’t experience these extreme weather events often. I’m curious if any companies have formal policies for this situation, or if it’s typically handled on a case-by-case basis?

We don’t have formal protocol which I almost wish we did

What is one of the most frustrating parts of being a scientist or researcher?

I'll tell you what it is: referencing!

You have to do so much of it, and it's so annoying. You have to cite your sources, but there are so many different formats for citations! And then sometimes you don't even know how to cite something, and how are you supposed to know that unless you ask someone who knows? And even then, they might not be sure whether it should be an in-text citation or a footnote…
