How is everyone planning for potential layoffs?

Hi All! I need some help. I got recently laid off and I am going to start interviewing for roles soon. Should I tell recruiter that I’m not in the company anymore? If so, what should I say? (I got fired due to my performance, but my manager set me up for failure from the beginning, aka toxic leader).
Also, should I update my LinkedIn so that recruiters know I’m open for work?

Found out that I’ll be laid off come 2021. I’ve been interviewing quite a lot recently, but what happens if I don’t find a job by February, my new employer sees my resume as currently working, and checks with my current employer on my resume, and finds out that I’ve been laid off?

Agency laid off all producers, is now having BA produce. BA texts laid off employees for vendor recs. 🙄 (the eye roll is at the agency, not the BA manager who didn’t sign up for this...)

I have not been on a project for over 3 months. Since I joined, I have been put in training. The training got extended by a month and now it's close to 4 months since I joined and without a project.

What should I do? People say that I'm lucky to get paid without doing any work, but it is stressing me out. I need the experience. The uncertainty is freaking me out, with rumours of layoffs and the certification program and all.

How do I get into a project? How long do I have to wait more?

Lateraled in spring (to a much bigger/more global firm) and have been extremely slow, esp lately. Constantly staffed on multiple deals that die, so staffing person isn’t giving me more work since others are also slow (I’m not alone at least). Especially worried about the lost development as a jr/mid and possible layoffs. Partners are hopeful it will pick up soon, but I’ve considered calling my old firm to see if they’re still busy lol didn’t leave badly and they’re more leanly staffed. Thoughts?

Newly laid off with little in the way of prospects due to the economy. Does anyone have advice on negotiating a severance package or hiring an employment lawyer to do so? The company I worked for have a very poor package (two months pay for 8 years of service).

Anyone else notice a trend with the mass amounts of layoffs in tech? Why are all their resumes so jumpy? Not like 2-5 years jumpy, like few months at a time jumpy? But still can land a position with similar tech giants? IMO, lots of these people get hired by their rich friends, stay a few months before someone realized they aren’t qualified and were just a recommendation from a current employee. Then repeat that process over and over until your company is down 50%

Was laid off in Sept. Unfortunately we will be seeing many more coming. It's what happens in a recession. Unfortunately I now also have my age against me. Not in a mentally good place at the moment.

Should I be concerned for my career with lack of billable projects? Background: Analyst hired out of undergrad in July 2020. I have worked on 3 proposals in the last 2 weeks, and 5 in the last 2 months. In the past year since I was hired, I have 8 months of billable work which is actually slightly higher than the other Analysts I joined with.
