I am a graduating student who just got offered 65k for a solution analyst role at Deloitte USDC (Data Engineering Focus). From reading previous posts it seems to be a lot of negative thoughts surrounding the USDC, but straight out of college is this a good opportunity?
I'm looking to gain as much experience as possible out of college in an IT role and wondering what exit opportunities may be in place a year or two down the road if there is little/slow progression.
Any Advice?

Culture is not good right now. You can find lots of “best Place to be xyz” awards going out right now because we are trying to sell our recognition of diversity and inclusion, particularly around women, disabilities and neurodiversity. In actuality, that’s just a Trojan horse because their dynamic work policy negates the flexibility needed to make things actually work for the populations who need it. Women are told to figure out their childcare issues because plenty of women leaders before them had to hire Nannie’s and miss soccer games. People with neurodivergence are only allowed to ask for in office amenities but working from home cannot be discussed as an option. Marginalized communities are commuting 4 hours a day and can’t afford the gas or childcare. There’s still a huge problem with patriarchal behaviors. Lots of aging, privileged men who feel entitled to escalate and threaten you into giving them what they ask for when they ask for it even if there are rules against it or it just can’t be done. The way they behave is not something newer workers should be getting taught to deal with. Culture has been its worst for about 2years now.
It's good to hear from an HR rep. I would say that culture has taken a step back because they are forcing this whole in office policy on people and making it hard for people that have real problems meeting the demand but love Fidelity.
Overall, it is still laid back but impression I get is they are not listening to their workers as much as they used to.
It's laid back but you won't make good money doing that and the idea of "first impressions lasts" is really true at Fidelity. Work hard you get rewarded a lot even if your year wasn't to your standards.
If you slack from the start, you are kind of on the shit list and next to impossible to get off or change their minds.
It’s a place where a good engineer can easily meet or exceed expectations. But you will work with a lot of 🗑️
Some of us are trying to raise the standards a bit…
I don't think coasting is an option at most financial firms, even if the general atmosphere is more easygoing. You will still need to deliver.
Compared to the firms I've been at before, I will say that the culture here is better.
Do you expect to have any change to their hybrid policy in the near future?
