Lingering symptoms after ten days are actually quite common. While a standard cold or flu often peaks within a week, many viral infections can trigger a "post-viral" phase where coughs or fatigue persist for two to three weeks as your body finishes clearing out inflammation. Factors like stress levels, sleep quality, or even the specific strain of the virus can influence how long your immune system stays in high gear. However, since you have crossed the week-and-a-half mark without improvement, it is important to monitor for "double worsening", where you start to feel better and then suddenly get worse, or persistent high fevers, as these can sometimes signal a secondary bacterial infection like sinusitis or bronchitis that might require medical attention.
I'm not a doctor though! These are just my personal experiences.
I just got sick today, will probably take me a couple weeks to be 100% again.
Almost everyone has a compromised immune system from Covid-19 infections now. Influenza is a very intense infection and usually takes 2-3 weeks in good circumstances to feel better. Risk of cardiovascular events temporarily goes up after a flu infection and shows how badly it can impact your body without proper rest. Hope you are on the mend soon.
I was sick earlier this fall for over 2 weeks. Pregnant so kind of assumed that’s why it was so bad but ughhhh. Hopefully you can take drugs to mask the symptoms and feel more normal!
