A BCG recruiter ghosted me after she reached out to schedule an interview. How long should I wait before following up? What is the common courtesy to give to ppl at BCG. I don’t wanna come off as too aggressive but I really need to get this interview set as there are other pending confirmations Boston Consulting Group

300 for tips? Aim higher
Rising Star
Why higher? We have 3 wine tastings and a Table Mountain tour. I also don’t buy souvenirs.
That’s probably fine. I also have a debit card that can be used internationally so rarely withdraw that much cash and just do it as needed when I get there. Certainly don’t walk around with that kind of cash on you in CPT.
Ah my favorite place in the world! I hope you have a wonderful trip. That should be enough and can always with draw more if needed.
Actually adding on I would probably just withdrawal any cash there, even though you will pay an ATM fee you will get a better exchange rate than trying to exchange USD for rand
Yeah 300usd is probs enough. When I went I took 500 but we used cash for few meals
Went to Cape Town in 2019 and it was an incredible experience. Very cheap place where your money goes far, so $300 for tips is more than enough (unless you factor in Safari and tipping your guide). Most places in Cape Town and the surrounding wine region accept credit cards too.

Thank you! Since we’re only there for a week, we’re skipping the safari for now…hopefully doing that in the future.
Another thing (you may know this) you can get a SIM card at the airport with data for pretty cheap—they accept credit card. Most phones I believe are unlocked now so you should be able to use this. Useful for calling Ubers etc, which you should plan to use over cabs

Just got back from Camps Bay, that’s way too much tbh.
Why not just pull out local currency when you’re there? Why do you need a lot of USD?
Fair :)

How much did it run you for the hotel and excursions? And 2 dinners?
Can anyone give a total cost of how much they spent? Want to surprise my wife for her birthday and need to budget

Just got back from 2 weeks in SA. We spent about $2-2.5k per person
