How much do deferred MBAs care about your plans for Pre-MBA Post-Grad experience? I ask because I think my plans are less than traditional.

I'm currently intending to work within the shipping industry as a supply officer, helping run the Supply Department aboard vessels. (I can explain a little further if needed)

Less traditional is considered a good thing. You will bring a different perspective to the cohort. Also, adcoms KNOW that they will get a ton of applications from folks who have spent a few years in consulting or investment banking. I presume that there is no formal 'track' in the role that you are taking that would naturally lead you to apply to MBA programs in a few years.

Well that's better news than what I expected to hear. I was only hoping to hear that it wouldn't hurt me, not even thinking it could potentially help me.

There is definitely not a formal MBA track using the supply officer route, atleast not one that I've heard of. (It seems to be a solid job for those who can handle/enjoy the lifestyle.)

I'd probably use the MBA to transfer shoreside once I've built the skills I'm looking for.

Should I transition to a tech sales job? Thoughts on risk vs reward? I am 34 yo, married with a baby incoming. I work at Google Cloud in solutions engineering (I help develop quantitative business cases with sales teams for customers). My cash base + bonus is $220k (going to ignore equity). I have an MBA from the University of Chicago, not that it matters much in sales. I have always been in a consulting role but I think I can make more in sales. I have a competitive personality and I am bored.

I currently work in Healthcare as a respiratory therapist for 10 years. I have been at my job, currently, for a little over 5 years. I am wondering what doors/opportunities I have if I were to utilize my masters degree?

I work heavily in AWS and am looking to learn another cloud platform. I have zero knowledge of azure and gcp and would like input on which to learn. Azure would make sense since its the second largest in terms of market share, but GCP seems far more interesting and technically challenging with things like Kubernetes and BigQuery.

I am starting to believe 35+ of having not managed my ADHD has really negatively impacted me in career growth etc. I'm realizing a lot of things about myself are because of the ADHD. I want better for myself and family but 1. I don't enjoy the same things forever 2. Imposter syndrome and RSD make me believe it's acceptable to start over in new places at low salaries. 3. I’ve got about 20 years cross channel experience in marketing, split between big brands and startups, and I’m considering pivoting into a data science/data analyst role. I know it will initially be a step back in comp but is it at all realistic for a person with certificate level experience in data analysis but a decent marketing management background to expect $150-200k comp or is that mostly for degreed candidates (or not realistic at all)? Any guidance here is greatly appreciated.
