Less traditional is considered a good thing. You will bring a different perspective to the cohort. Also, adcoms KNOW that they will get a ton of applications from folks who have spent a few years in consulting or investment banking. I presume that there is no formal 'track' in the role that you are taking that would naturally lead you to apply to MBA programs in a few years.
Well that's better news than what I expected to hear. I was only hoping to hear that it wouldn't hurt me, not even thinking it could potentially help me.
There is definitely not a formal MBA track using the supply officer route, atleast not one that I've heard of. (It seems to be a solid job for those who can handle/enjoy the lifestyle.)
I'd probably use the MBA to transfer shoreside once I've built the skills I'm looking for.
