$5mm invested in tax free securities yielding 4% interest gives you a perpetual income stream of $200k per year and does not account for inflation. I think you can probably sensitize things from here for your own risk tolerances, expectations, and quality of life standards
I just want to take sometime off. Not looking to retire lol. I got about 2 years of living expenses saved up but I also want to travel a bit.
Totally depends on where you live/ what your expenses are / how long you want to quit for if you're planning on taking a break. I wouldn't quit with less than 6 months pay saved, personally. The job market is so bad that it's taking some people even longer than 6 months to land a new job
The job market is terrible right now. I like to take some time off but I know it’s hard to land a role once you quit.

If you're planning for a temporary time off, I'd suggest having enough to survive for a year, maybe nine months. The job market lately can't be trusted to yield something quickly, and that has to be factored in. If you can put aside enough to make it for a year and you find a job in a month, you've got a nice pile of money saved up. Nothing wrong with that.
I totally agree. It’s going to be a temporary move for me. I know lots of people that have done it and improved their mental health.
