Is a 900k net worth for a single person at almost 40 good or terrible? I see posts from our US counterparts on net worth and salary and feel so behind yet we have such a high COL in Toronto.

How would you allocate $200K today, knowing (1) this is in addition to your HYSA, investment, 401K.. (2) you have no immediate use (3) if we see a drop in real estate price in the next 1-2 yr timeframe, this could be part of your down payment for a house in HCOL

Who day trades / swing trades with another job? Any tips?

In particular wondering if it’s a sustainable side income or just for fun, and what are you trading (stocks, crypto, forex, futures, etc.)?

I’ve always been a big saver minimum 15% to maxing out my 401k since I graduated college. I’m married to someone who thinks 6% is enough and likes $$$ cars. Other than the cars, they dont really spend money. For the married 🐠, how do you have the conversation with them that what they are doing isn’t enough? I try to guide them and say you want the $$$ cars but the salary you have won’t get there and you’re going to have to find a job that gets them the salary…. Then the fight starts.

I keep selling stocks and taking loses buying other stock hoping it will recover but never did and sell again taking loses and buy again. It now sink in to me. Spent the pandemic working on myself, got sober, focused on working out, left the music industry and started a career where I can make money and have a steady work schedule.
